The History And System Of The ITIL Certification

The roots of ITIL:

In the late 19th century the government of UK formed a set of regulations through the agency of central communications and telecommunications. This regulation was designed in a way to offer a practical framework for planning, identifying and supporting services of IT to the business.

The beginning of ITIL Training in Belfast was in the form of library which consisted of books which were related to the practices of service management of IT, which were based on the regulations framed by the CCTA.

Versions and books:

The various versions and the modules of book in ITIL Training Glasgow tend to differ to a great extent. In the first version of ITIL there were 30 volumes and in the second these were consolidated to 8 volumes which were grouped as the guidelines for the process of various IT aspects. Some of them are management and applications. The third version was released in 2007 and it is followed till date. In this version there were 26 processes and functions which were consolidated in the core publications of five.

• Service strategy
• Design of service
• Transition in service
• Operation in service
• Constant improvement in the service

In the year 2011 the system of ITIL was updated. In the formal process the update helped to provide guidance additionally. 

The various schemes of qualification and the system of credit:

The credit system which is used in the ITIL Training Newcastle scheme for qualification is a one which is modern and it is known as ITIL credit system. All the qualifications of ITIL and the qualifications which are related to ITIL are provided with the same type of credit system. 

ITIL foundation:

The scores which is given to the candidate is two credits, this test consists of 40 questions which is of multiple choice. To undertake this exam there is no perquisite which is required. The exam deals with the important elements such as the terminology and concepts which are associated with management of lifecycle in ITIL service.

ITIL Intermediate:

This provides around 16 credits to the candidates; the candidates who have cleared the foundation of ITIL can apply for this after completing the training course. There are two elements which are present in these examinations they are 

• Examination of service life cycle
• Examination of service capability

Managing the cycle:

Marks the candidates up to 5 credits, to appear for this the candidate have to clear the ITIL foundation, obtain 15 credits in Intermediate exams. This is also an exam which is a gateway to reach the expert level. The candidate should have obtained 22 credits on clearing the above exams.
